Gyeolseong Dongheon was the administrative complex where officials in the Hongseong area during the Joseon period handled government affairs. It consists of the dongheon (main hall) for administrative duties, the hyeongbangcheong (judicial office) for law enforcement, and the chaeksil (book room) where officials' family members resided while overseeing books and documents. The dongheon was originally located at Bunu-teo in Geumsong-ri, Gyeolseong-myeon; it was relocated in the 2nd year of King Jeongjong (1400) to the summit of Gyeolseong Fortress, and rebuilt at its current location in Eumnae-ri in the 6th year of King Hyeonjong (1665), undergoing further renovations thereafter. The dongheon measures five bays wide and three bays deep, with a hip-and-gable roof. The hyeongbangcheong has an L-shape, while the chaeksil measures two bays wide and one and a half bays deep, with a pyramidal gabled roof.
