This is the birthplace and childhood home of Queen Jeongsun (1745–1805), the second queen consort of King Yeongjo of Joseon. After the death of Queen Jeongsseong, the first queen consort, Queen Jeongsun was elevated to queen in 1759 (the 35th year of King Yeongjo's reign). The house is said to have been granted by King Hyojong to royal secretary Kim Hong-uk, who was caring for his elderly parents. It is estimated to have been built sometime between 1649 and 1659 during King Hyojong's reign, hence it is also known as the Seosan Gyeongju Kim Family Old House. The building is 'ㅁ'-shaped in plan, with annexes added on both sides forming a 'ㄷ'-shape. A detached building is placed on the south side. The stone walls of the rear garden and inner quarters were laid with natural stone, and the front gate is a simple flat gate. It was designated a Chungcheongnam-do monument in 1988. Nearby attractions include Haemi Eupseong, Haemi Martyrdom Site, Ganwol Lake, and the Cheonsumanbird sanctuary.
