Cheongok Seowon, located in Cheongok Village, Jong-ri, Hwasan-myeon, Wanju-gun, was built in 1941 to enshrine Sukkye Im Yunseong, a mid-Joseon literary man who served as magistrate of Geochang-hyeon. Originally, a shrine was built to enshrine the spirit tablets of Im Yunseong and the mid-Joseon official Gu Yeong, but when the shrine burned down, both tablets were moved to Baekkhyeon Seowon. In 1941, the seowon was rebuilt, and Im Yunseong's descendants gathered together to return and enshrine his tablet. The compound includes a lecture hall, shrine, and commemorative stele. The shrine is three bays wide and one bay deep, while the lecture hall is four bays wide and two bays deep with a hip-and-gable roof. Descendants of the Jinju Im clan and local Confucian scholars hold memorial rites every year on the 15th day of the 2nd lunar month.
