Gongju Confucian School's exact founding date is unknown, but it originally stood in Songsan-ri, Ungjin-dong before being relocated to its current site in the 1st year of King Injo (1623). The complex was repaired several times and last renovated in 1954. The layout includes the Daeseongjeon shrine at the upper level, and the Myeongnyundang lecture hall with Dongje and Jongyeonggak at the lower level.
