Located in Seongbuk-dong, this is the home where Hyegok Choe Sun-u (1916-1984), a scholar who searched for and promoted the beauty of Korean culture, resided from 1976 to 1984. Built in the 1930s as a modern hanok (traditional Korean house), this home preserves the scholar's traces throughout. Secured through the National Trust movement in 2002 and opened to the public in April 2004, it was purchased with citizen donations, unnecessary additions removed, and worn parts repaired. The house displays personal belongings, handwritten manuscripts, New Year's cards and paintings gifted by cultural figures, donated by family and acquaintances. The main hall serves as exhibition space, the east wing as office space, and the west wing as meeting rooms and visitor rest areas.
