Established in 2001, Yeongcheon National Cemetery enshrines those who sacrificed and contributed for the nation and society, honoring their loyalty and great deeds. It actively runs memorial and commemorative programs to nurture patriotism, and strives to be an open memorial space through enshrinement ceremonies, visitation services and facility improvements. Hyeonchunggwan is used for enshrinement ceremonies and remembrance of patriotic martyrs and defenders of the country. Worship and memorial facilities include the Hyeonchungtap memorial tower honoring the loyalty and feats of the defenders, the Hongsalmun gate dividing the general and sacred zones, and the Yeongcheon Daecheopbi monument commemorating the Battle of Yeongcheon and consoling the spirits.
