About this place

Dongbaekjeong is a double-tiered pavilion situated within the camellia forest of Seocheon Maryang-ri, a Natural Monument, located on a peninsular headland that juts out toward the West Sea like a hook. The site allows visitors to feel the refreshing ocean breeze directly. The pavilion stands at the summit of the hill, offering commanding views. Although the West Sea coast is generally characterized by a complex shoreline, many islands, and wide tidal flats, this peninsula extends far out to sea, so from Dongbaekjeong one can enjoy a vast, open seascape reminiscent of the East Sea despite being on the western coast. Nearby attractions include Maryang Port, Hongwon Port, Chunjangdae Beach, Busa Seawall, and Busa Lake.
