Eoeun Pavilion is a pavilion located alongside the Seomjin River Bicycle Path at the confluence of the Seomjin and Osu streams. 'Eoeun' means 'leisurely fishing in the Seomjin River.' The pavilion was built in 1567 (the 22nd year of King Myeongjong's reign) by Yang Sa-hyeong (1547-1599), a mid-Joseon civil official and righteous army soldier. Originally named 'Yeongha Pavilion,' it was a newly constructed chamber (nugak) built when Yang came of age and moved out on his own. Yang Sa-hyeong passed the civil examination in 1588 and joined the righteous army when the Imjin War broke out in 1592, rendering distinguished service. After his death, the pavilion was renamed Eoeun and rebuilt several times; the current structure dates from 1919. It is a three-bay-by-two-bay tile building with a hipped-gable roof; the name plaque was written by Yang's 9th-generation descendant Yang Jae-jeol. In 1990 it was designated a Jeollabuk-do Cultural Heritage Material.
