The Hongsan Government Hall (dongheon) is the Joseon-era administrative hall of Hongsahyeon county, where the magistrate conducted official government business including administration and trials. Built in 1871 (the 8th year of King Gojong) by magistrate Jeong Gi-hwa as part of Heungseon Daewongun's nationwide effort to restore government prestige. After liberation it served as a police substation and was restored in 1984 to its current seven-bay form.
