Located near Deoksan hot springs in Yesan, Chunguisa is a historic site created where Martyr Yun Bong-gil (1908-1932) was born and lived until going to China, selected as the second scenic spot of Yesan. Yun Bong-gil was born and grew up here, cultivating anti-Japanese spirit and conducting rural enlightenment activities. He then went to China, and on April 29, 1932, threw a bomb at the Japanese military's Shanghai Battle memorial ceremony at Hongkew Park (now Lu Xun Park) in Shanghai, declaring Korea's will for independence to the world. Preserved here are 'Gwanghyeondang,' the house where Yun Bong-gil was born; 'Jeohandan,' the house where he lived until going to China meaning 'the house that saves Korea'; and 'Buheungwon,' the house where he conducted rural enlightenment activities. There is also a commemorative stele and statue honoring Yun Bong-gil's achievements, the Chunguisa shrine built to honor his spirit, and the Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall displaying his relics.
