Taereung and Gangneung

Taereung and Gangneung is a historic site located in Nowon-gu, Seoul, home to Taereung and Gangneung, where kings and queens of the Joseon period are buried. Taereung is the tomb of the 13th king, Injo, and Gangneung is the tomb of the 14th king, Hyojong, and his queen. With its serene natural scenery and walking trails, the area lets visitors spend leisurely time while appreciating historical relics. Moreover, designated as a cultural heritage protection zone, it is a good place to learn about Joseon-period history. It is an attraction easily accessible by public transportation.
