About this place

Juksa Temple is situated on the south-facing slope of Biryongsan, on the boundary between Galsan-dong and Inji-myeon, Seosan. Geographically it lies on the upper south slope of Biryongsan's summit, with a large rock face to the rear rising like a folding screen. No founding records survive; according to one tradition, it was established during the reign of Baekje King Uija by the monk Dogam for meditation practice. The current structures include a Wontongjeon hall, a bell tower, and residential quarters. The Wontongjeon was rebuilt after the original was destroyed by fire.
