About this place

Uhwaru is a Joseon-era architectural structure at Hwaamsa Temple on the slopes of Bulmyeong Mountain, Wanju. It serves as the main gate of the temple and the entrance to the Geungnakjeon hall. The facade is a two-story elevated pavilion with tall pillars and a wooden floor, while the rear is a simple single-story structure — a cleverly asymmetrical design that harmonizes with the natural terrain.
