This thatched-roof farmhouse, believed to have been built in the early 19th century, sits facing southeast on an auspicious site with mountains extending left and right behind the house and a wide open field in front. A dense pine forest and a pond have been created on the right hillside, and a row of trees planted in the field forms a welcoming entrance path. Centered on the inner courtyard (ahn-madang), the main house (anchae) and men's quarters (sarangchae) are arranged side by side, with a storehouse wing to the left and a kitchen wing to the right, forming an overall open 'ㅁ' shape. The front-facing five-bay anchae has three rooms arranged from left to right with the kitchen to the right. The sarangchae has four bays — two living rooms and, to the right, a gatehouse and storage room. A distinctive feature is the smoke stack made of logs set into a cone-shaped earthen mound with thatch, a traditional technique from mountain regions.
