Woryeonggyo Bridge

Andong, Gyeongbuk

Spanning the Nakdong River in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, this 387-meter wooden pedestrian bridge is the longest of its kind in Korea and one of the city's defining landmarks. The bridge carries the love story of a Joseon-era woman who wove a pair of shoes from her own hair to honor her husband who had passed away before her. At night, the bridge is illuminated and its reflections shimmer across the river, creating a soft and romantic night view. The Woryeongjeong pavilion at the center of the bridge, the fountain, and the riverside walking path are all popular photo spots. The calm river and warm lights blending together create a poetic and lyrical atmosphere.
