Dodamsambong Peaks

Three dramatic rock peaks rising from the middle of the Namhan River in Danyang, North Chungcheong Province, they are considered the finest of Danyang's eight scenic spots. The hexagonal pavilion Samdojeong atop the tallest central peak reflects in the river, creating a scene reminiscent of a classical East Asian painting. Legend has it that Jeong Do-jeon, a founding minister of Joseon, so loved this landscape that he took the pen name Sambong. The peaks viewed from the riverside walking path and pleasure boats, along with the scenic stretch toward Seongmun across the river, are beloved photography spots. The tranquil atmosphere blending with morning mist in all four seasons is truly exceptional.
