The Garden of Morning Calm
Gapyeong, Gyeonggi
Garden of Morning Calm is a four-season botanical garden in Sangmyeon, Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, which has been one of South Korea's most beloved garden destinations since opening in 1996. More than 5,100 plant species are arranged across 20-plus themed gardens, offering a completely different landscape in every season: royal azaleas in spring, hydrangeas in summer, vivid foliage in autumn, and snow-dusted plantings in winter. The winter night illumination festival, known as the Five-Color Star Light Garden Festival, is one of the country's most popular seasonal events, drawing visitors from across the nation for its dazzling light displays woven through trees and flowers. Winding paths and photo-worthy spots throughout the grounds invite leisurely walks year-round.
