Ikseon-dong Hanok Street

Seoul

Ikseon-dong Hanok Street is a cluster of 1920s hanok traditional houses in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and one of the oldest residential hanok villages to survive the city's rapid modernization. Narrow alleyways are lined with cafes, restaurants, and boutique shops that preserve the original hanok structure while offering a retro-modern atmosphere. Tile roofs, traditional gates, and inner courtyards repurposed as cultural hubs draw a young crowd every weekend. Pairing a visit with the nearby Changdeokgung Palace and Insadong creates a journey through both Seoul's royal heritage and its vibrant contemporary culture.
