Jeonju Hanok Village
Jeonju, Jeonbuk
Jeonju Hanok Village in Wansan-gu, Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, is the largest concentration of traditional hanok houses in Korea, with approximately 800 preserved structures. Historic Joseon-era sites such as Gyeonggijeon Shrine, Omokdae, and Pungnammun Gate are nestled among the hanok, creating an atmosphere like a living history museum. Renting colorful hanbok to wear while strolling the alleys, and enjoying local foods such as Jeonju bibimbap and kongnamul gukbap (bean sprout soup rice), are the main attractions here. Small and large craft workshops and traditional teahouses are tucked throughout the alleys, offering a full sensory experience of the essence of Korean traditional culture.
