Seongsan Ilchulbong

Jeju

Seongsan Ilchulbong, also known as Sunrise Peak, is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage tuff cone rising from the eastern coast of Jeju Island. Its vast crater interior, filled with grassy meadow and surrounded by sheer cliffs, creates a dramatic landscape visible from the sea. The summit at 179 m is one of South Korea's most celebrated sunrise spots, drawing large crowds each New Year's dawn. A 30-minute trail along the crater rim rewards hikers with sweeping panoramic views of the ocean on all sides.
