Sokcho Yeonggeumjeong

Yeonggeumjeong in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, is a pavilion perched on a rock above Dongmyeong Port, named for the sound of waves crashing against the rocks that resembles the melody of a geomungo zither. The view below the pavilion, where the crystal-clear East Sea meets the fishing boats of Sokcho Port, is superb, and watching the sunrise from here in the early morning doubles its beauty. The waves washing between the rocks around the pavilion offer visitors an up-close experience of the sea as a prime photo spot. Sokcho Jungang Market and Cheongcho Lake are within walking distance, making this an ideal starting point for exploring Sokcho.
